DQMH Nurses Receive Trauma Nursing Certification

Two DeQuincy Memorial Hospital nurses recently attended an Emergency Nurses Association Trauma Nursing Core Class hosted by LSU Health Sciences Center Department of Emergency Medicine in Shreveport, LA.  They received their certification after an extensive course based on knowledge and psychomotor skills.  There were nurses from several different states attending this class.  The Emergency Nurses Association believes that the knowledge and psychomotor skills of the Trauma Nursing Course will assist professional nurses to systematically assess the trauma patient and to intervene or to assist with interventions that will decrease the current mortality and morbidity associated with trauma.  Pictured below are (L-R) Jessica Chaumont, RN and Ellen Naquin, RN.
