The
purpose of the DeQuincy Memorial Hospital Volunteer program is
to recruit, train and supervise persons in the community who
wish to serve the hospital in designated areas of service.
Some
of the areas of service are the Gift Shop, Refreshment Cart,
taking blood pressures, Scholarships, and educational gifts.
The
Volunteers are involved in several activities which include
hosting caroling at Christmas, hospital Blood Drive, Council
on Aging, the annual, Quad Luncheon, the hospital Christmas
Party and Doctor's Day Observance.
Two
scholarships are given to DeQuincy High School graduates who
plan to pursue a health care profession. Beginning with
the 2004-05 school term, an additional two scholarships will
be given to graduates of the surrounding areas, for a total of
four $500 scholarships. Some of the scholarship money
making projects are the quarterly Bake Sale, Book sales,

The
hospital appreciates each and every one of our volunteers.
